I have played Bassoon with Shepley Band for just over 2 years, returning to the instrument after about 15 years. I also play drums at Cawthorne Brass Band, & Eb Bass & Trombone at Altofts & Normanton Brass Band, where I am also Chairman. As you can see music is a big part of my life. One of the things that drew me to Shepley, after my initial visit, was the welcome that I received. I knew Judith from Cawthorne, & the atmosphere is like an extended family. Musically we play a very diverse range of musical styles, but there is one common theme – we always try to play music that will entertain, music that will challenge, & when the audience go away with at least one tune buzzing round in their head for days, it gives us a buzz too!
I am married to Cheryl, my wife of 7 years, and during the day I drive HGV’s, (the big articulated ones that everyone complains about). I also enjoy caravanning (more complaints!), visiting many interesting places around the UK.
